المرصد الرياضية: كشف نضال بحران، المتحدث الرسمي للاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم، أن جائزة أفضل لاعب آسيوي انطلقت رسميًا عام 1994، وكان النجم السعودي سعيد العويران أول من حصل عليها.

وأوضح بحران، خلال حديثه في برنامج المنتصف، أن الجائزة تُعد من أبرز الجوائز الفردية في كرة القدم الآسيوية، حيث تهدف إلى تكريم اللاعبين الذين قدموا أداءً مميزًا وساهموا في تطور اللعبة داخل القارة.
